Welcome to ChessLoops. By downloading, installing, or using the ChessLoops mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2. Description of Service

ChessLoops is a chess training application that implements the Woodpecker Method. The App provides sets of tactical chess puzzles that users solve repeatedly to build pattern recognition and improve their chess skills. The App includes features such as:

• Curated puzzle sets across multiple difficulty levels
• Progress tracking and performance statistics
• User accounts with cloud synchronisation
• Customisable board themes

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to update this information as needed.

You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the App
• Create multiple accounts for fraudulent or abusive purposes

5. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by ChessLoops and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The chess puzzles provided within the App are sourced from the Lichess puzzle database, which is available under a Creative Commons licence.

6. Puzzle Content

Chess puzzles in the App are sourced from the Lichess open database. While we curate and select puzzles carefully, we do not guarantee that every puzzle solution is the only possible or best move in a given position. Puzzle ratings are approximate indicators of difficulty.

7. Subscriptions and Billing

ChessLoops offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions ("ChessLoops Pro") that unlock additional puzzle sets beyond the free tier.

• Free trial: Eligible new subscribers may receive a free trial period. The trial period and subscription automatically renew unless cancelled.
• Payment: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Renewal charge: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• Cancellation: You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued.
• Price changes: We may change subscription prices at any time. Price changes will be communicated in advance and will not affect your current billing period.

8. Availability and Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the App at any time without prior notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the App's reliability, accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChessLoops and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the App, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which ChessLoops operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
